Emphasizing innovation and cost reduction, SAS Simulation Studio for JMP will help organizations improve planning and streamline processes in customer service, manufacturing, healthcare, and transportation. This new operations research offering from SAS, the leader in business analytics, helps organizations reduce risk by modeling and analyzing operations systems to explore new directions before making changes. Project planners, LOB managers, analysts and engineers use SAS Simulation Studio to understand how changes in one area affect other areas, thus eliminating costly trial and error.
“Integrating simulation with SAS analytics and visualization adds extraordinary sophistication to discrete event simulation software,” said Radhika Kulkarni, Vice President of Advanced Analytics at SAS. “Now users can conveniently and efficiently supplement Six Sigma, visual data exploration and other analyses with “what-if” processes. Many operations have significant random elements such as client arrivals, processing times, business transactions. Adding simulation to the mix can be a lifesaver.”
Visualizing, testing, describing best options in ways managers grasp quickly
Simulation and automated design of experiments capabilities unequaled by any other vendor have come together in SAS Simulation Studio. SAS helps users gain more from resources spent building, running, and analyzing simulation models. Data visualization adds interactive flexibility that helps both novice and advanced users test alternatives to determine the best course of action.
“Studying and measuring the performanc of a system under different scenarios is made easier with SAS Simulation Studio’s interactive analysis and visualization,” said Mary Grace Crissey, Global Analytics Marketing Manager at SAS. “By carefully controlling the parameters of a modeled system, organizations can improve performance in even the most intricate of systems.”
Availability
SAS Simulation Studio is now shipping. Many SAS customers already model and analyze systems using discrete event simulation methods with SAS/OR software. With increasing demand for this type of advanced analysis, SAS is offering additional options by shipping Simulation Studio as a standalone product for JMP users.
Customers who license SAS/OR and run SAS 9.2 will receive this software at no additional cost. SAS Simulation Studio for JMP currently runs on Windows 32-bit systems. Future releases will support additional operating systems.
